I’m Thinking About Becoming A Dj, What Do I Start With?

I’m 16 and currently have $1000 saved up for Dj equipment. I want a pair of Stanton STR8-150s which I’ve heard, are better than Technics except both are expensive anyway. I’m looking for a mixer that’s cheap and decent as well as Serato. I think headphones and needles are fairly cheap so that can be handled. Should I just save up more money so I can buy all that or should I buy cheaper turntables so that I can get my equipment and start earlier? What would a beginner Dj spend 1k on?

why don’t you spend it wisely…go online and find the best prices available…depending on whether you need like lights and lasers for shows or whatever, check out sites like IDJNOW.com or other dj sites. I only listed that one because I’m familiar with it.

spend as much as you can on the best equipment just in case you can’t afford much when your older I’d certainly go with that and there are DJ courses you can study even online that might be worth a look just google it.
